Power of Attorney:

You can do a General or Special Power of Attorney in person at the Honorary Consulate.

To be effective in Lebanon, a General or Special Power of Attorney done at a Notary Public should be legalized at the Honorary Consulate (after being notarized by the Lt. Governor of Nova Scotia).

General or Special Power of Attorney (in person)

This Power of Attorney is done and signed in person at the Honorary Consulate. The Applicant should call the Honorary Consulate for an appointment at (902) 457-6676, and bring the following:

  • Original Lebanese ID (Tazkarat al-Hawiya or Ikhraj Kayd or Lebanese passport). 

  • Original Canadian ID (Showing the picture of the applicant).

  • 2 witnesses.

  • Cash or money order payable to the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon CAN. $75.00 for General Power of Attorney, per signature per applicant. CAN. $37.50 for Special Power of Attorney, per signature per applicant.

A - General or Special Power of Attorney done by your local Notary Public:

The Honorary Consulate can legalize a General or Special Power of Attorney done by a local Notary Public if and only it meets all the following requirements

  • Signature of 2 witnesses.

  • Legalized by the Lt. Governor of the Province.

  • Copies of IDs of 2 witnesses and applicant.

  • Cash or money order payable to the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon, for the amount of: CAN. $75.00 for General Power of Attorney, per signature per applicant. CAN. $37.50 for Special Power of Attorney, per signature per applicant.  

For property matters you need the numbers of the deeds.

B - Affidavit:

  • Notarized by the Notary Public.

  • Copies of IDs of 2 witnesses and applicant with full address.

  • Legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • CAN. $75.00 Cash or money order, payable to the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon, per signature per applicant.
