Civil Registration:

The Honorary Consulate encourages all the Lebanese residing in Canada to register their Marriage, Birth or Divorce concluded in Canada.

After the reception of all the required papers for registration, the Embassy delivers a certificate to Lebanon in the diplomatic pouch and in the period of 3 to 4 months a new civil registration (Ikhraj Kayd) will be available at the Honorary Consulate.

Registration of Marriage: Application - Marriage Registration

1- Fill out a Marriage Application.

2- Husband’s recent (not older than 1 year) original personal and family Ikhraj Kayd.

3- Wife’s recent (not older than 1 year) original personal and family Ikhraj Kayd.

4- Canadian original statement of marriage (long form).

5- Spouse’s statement of birth (long form, if not Lebanese) and Photocopy of the current Passport.

This formality is free of charge.

N.B: An attestation will be issued by the Embassy confirming the registration.

Registration of Divorce: Application - Divorce Application  

1- Fill out a Divorce Application

2- Family recent (not older than 1 year) original Ikhraj Kayd.

3- Lebanese original Marriage Certificate (as registered in Lebanon).

4- Original Divorce Judgment and Divorce Certificate legalized by the Canadian Foreign affairs and translated to Arabic by a certified translator.

* Please ensure that the date of marriage mentioned on the Judgment and the Certificate of Divorce is identical to the date of marriage mentioned on the certificate of marriage issued by the Lebanese authorities.

5- In case the marriage is religious; the original religious divorce has to be legalized from the competent religious authorities.

6- In order to finalize the divorce, a Special Power of Attorney has to be made to a person in Lebanon, which includes his full address and phone number.

7- The amount of $30.00 as fees for legalization of the divorce papers payable by a money order to "The Embassy of Lebanon".

N.B: An attestation will be issued by the Embassy confirming the registration.
