Passports

Starting June 1st, 2011 and at the request of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and after the Lebanese authorities were informed that more than thirty countries are now reluctant to grant visas or renewing residency permits for holders of Lebanese burgundy passports, for these reasons we ask our Lebanese citizens to apply through our Consulate Office for obtaining a new passport  issued exclusively by the Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.

Applications for new passports will be sent to Lebanon by diplomatic pouch and returned in the same way.

Getting a new passport will take at least three months from the date of submission of the application.

NEW PASSPORT-
 

  1. Call for an appointment to complete the form including the signature and fingerprint of the applicant at the Consulate in front of the Consular Officer.

  2. The following documents are requested to be attached to the form:

 

For Individual Passports
 

  • Recent extract of individual registration (Ikhraj Kayd Fardy) or Lebanese ID (computerized)

  • The actual passport that the applicant intends to replace.

  • Two recent  photos (Size 4,3 x 3,5 cm) not drawn from another photos, showing full details of the face with a white background.

  • A valid Canadian document showing the status of the applicant in Canada (PR/Visa/Work or study permit)

  • Cash= $45 CDN

  • Money order payable to the Embassy of Lebanon

    • $72 CDN for one year(for special cases ONLY)

    • $360 CDN for five years(Underage applicants ONLY-Biometric Passport)

    • $720 CDN for ten years (Adults applicants ONLY-Biometric Passport)

RENEWAL OF LEBANESE PASSPORT-


For 1 Year Renewal:
 

  1. Call for an appointment to complete the form including the signature and fingerprint of the applicant at the Consulate in front of the Consular Officer.

  2. The following documents are requested:
     

  • Letter explaining the reason for the renewal.

  • Apply for a New Passport at the same time of the renewal.

  • Actual passport 

  • A copy of Extract of individual registration or a copy of an I.D. card.

  • Four recent  photos (Size 4.3 x 3.5 cm not drawn from another photos) showing full details of the face with a white background

  •  A copy of a valid Canadian document showing the applicant status in Canada (PR/Canadian Passport/Visa/Work or study permit)

  • $72 CDN in cash.

REPLACING A LOST PASSPORT-
 

  • A lost passport should be reported immediately to the local police that will issue a police report.

  • A notice about the loss of the passport should be published in a local newspaper for three consecutive days.


If the passport is not found, the following are required to have it replaced:


1.    A copy or digital record of the lost passport (if available).

2.    A  copy of the police report.

3.    A Lebanese I.D. card(computerized)OR an extract of individual/familial registration.

4.    Money order payable to the Embassy of Lebanon:

  • $72 CDN for one year valid passport

  • $360 CDN for five year valid passport

  • $720 CDN for ten years (Biometric passport only)
